Our Installation Service

We Don't Just Deliver. We Make It Work.

Receiving medical equipment is only half the journey. Without proper installation, calibration, and commissioning, even the most advanced device can underperform — or worse, produce unreliable clinical results. That is where GBioMed's engineering team becomes your most valuable asset.

Our engineers are trained and certified by the OEMs whose products we install. Every installation follows a documented, standards-compliant procedure that mirrors the manufacturer's own service protocols — giving you full confidence in your equipment's clinical accuracy and operational safety.

  • Factory-trained engineers — OEM-certified technicians for each equipment category.
  • Full site readiness assessment — power, space, plumbing, and gas supply verified before installation begins.
  • Documented installation report — every commissioning produces a signed acceptance certificate and calibration record.
  • Staff handover training — operators and clinical staff trained before the engineer signs off.
What's Included

Our End-to-End Installation Service

Every GBioMed installation engagement covers six core deliverables — no matter the equipment type or facility size.

Pre-Installation Site Survey

Our engineers visit the site ahead of delivery to assess available space, electrical supply (voltage stability, phase requirements), medical gas lines, plumbing, and ventilation. Any infrastructure gaps are flagged and resolved before equipment arrives.

Unpacking & Inspection

Each unit is carefully unpacked, visually inspected, and checked against the delivery manifest. Damage or missing components are documented and escalated to the manufacturer before installation proceeds.

Physical Installation

Equipment is positioned, secured, and connected per the OEM's installation manual. This includes ceiling-mount systems, wall-mounted panels, floor-anchored equipment, and all interconnecting cables, hoses, and gas lines.

Calibration & Configuration

Using certified reference equipment, every sensor, transducer, and output parameter is calibrated to traceable national and international standards. Device software is configured for your facility's protocols, language, and alert thresholds.

Performance & Safety Testing

Electrical safety tests (leakage current, earth resistance), functional performance checks, alarm verification, and worst-case scenario testing are all conducted before the device is declared clinically ready.

Staff Training & Handover

Clinical and biomedical staff receive hands-on training covering daily operation, routine cleaning, alarm responses, and basic troubleshooting. A signed acceptance certificate and calibration record are issued before the engineer leaves site.

Step-by-Step Process

What Happens on Installation Day

Our engineers follow a structured, fully documented workflow for every engagement — ensuring nothing is overlooked.

01

Arrival & Site Confirmation

Engineers arrive with all tools, test equipment, and reference documentation. The site is re-confirmed against the pre-installation survey report. Any last-minute changes to infrastructure are logged and addressed.

Site Checklist Documentation Review
02

Unpacking, Inspection & Component Check

All packaging is removed under controlled conditions. Every component, accessory, and consumable is checked against the packing list. Serial numbers are recorded and warranty registration initiated.

Serial No. Logging Warranty Registration Damage Assessment
03

Mechanical & Electrical Connections

Physical mounting, cable routing, medical gas connections, and network integration are completed to OEM specifications. Power is tested for voltage stability before the device is energised for the first time.

04

Software Configuration & Calibration

Device firmware is updated to the latest approved version. Facility-specific settings (language, units, alert limits, user accounts) are configured. All measurement channels are calibrated using traceable reference standards.

05

Safety & Performance Verification

IEC 60601 electrical safety tests are performed (earth continuity, leakage current). Functional performance is verified across all operational modes. Alarm systems, emergency stops, and safety interlocks are each tested individually.

06

User Training & Formal Handover

Clinical and technical staff are trained on operation, daily checks, and escalation procedures. All documentation — installation report, calibration record, acceptance certificate, and user manuals — is handed over. Warranty period officially begins.

Why Choose GBioMed Engineers

What Sets Our Installation Team Apart

Our engineers bring factory-level competence to every site visit. They don't learn on the job — they arrive trained, certified, and prepared for your specific equipment.

OEM-Certified for Each Brand

Our engineers hold certifications from Philips, GE, Mindray, Dräger, and other OEMs — meaning they follow the same procedures as the manufacturer's own service teams.

Fast Nationwide Mobilisation

Our field engineers are distributed across Nigeria, enabling rapid mobilisation to any state — critical for time-sensitive clinical environments and donor-funded programme deadlines.

Full Documentation Package

Every installation produces a complete paper trail: installation report, calibration certificate, electrical safety test records, and acceptance form — essential for accreditation, audits, and warranty claims.

Post-Installation 30-Day Warranty Check

We include a complimentary follow-up visit or remote check within 30 days of commissioning to verify continued performance and address any operational queries from clinical staff.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common Questions About Installation & Commissioning

Yes. Our installation and commissioning service is available for third-party equipment purchases as well. As long as we can obtain the OEM service documentation and our engineers hold the appropriate certifications for that device, we can provide a full installation and commissioning engagement.

We recommend scheduling the installation engineer visit at the same time as placing your equipment order. For standard equipment, engineers can typically be mobilised within 5–10 working days of delivery confirmation. For large, complex multi-device projects (e.g., full theatre fit-out, ICU setups), 3–4 weeks advance planning is advised.

We require access to the intended room or space, confirmation that electrical supply meets the device's voltage/phase requirements, and availability of relevant clinical or technical staff for the training session. For imaging equipment, shielding assessments and room drawings are required in advance. Our pre-installation survey checklist covers all requirements in detail.

The OEM warranty on the equipment begins from the date of commissioning sign-off. GBioMed additionally provides a 30-day post-commissioning support period at no extra charge, covering remote technical queries and one on-site follow-up if required. Beyond this, our Preventive Maintenance Contracts (PPM/SLA) keep the equipment in optimal condition for the long term.

Duration depends on the equipment complexity. A bedside patient monitor or infusion pump can be commissioned in 2–4 hours. A diagnostic ultrasound system typically takes 4–8 hours including training. A full ICU setup or operating theatre fit-out is a multi-day project. We provide a time estimate as part of your project proposal.

Yes. We offer safe decommissioning services including data wipe and secure disposal of patient data, disconnection of utilities, safe removal and packaging, and — where applicable — coordination with equipment re-use programmes or certified disposal facilities in line with Nigerian environmental regulations.
